Description: One of the challenges for contact tracers and case investigators is to motivate people in making some important changes needed to support their health-related to COVID-19. There are tools and techniques from a communication style called, Motivational Interviewing that can be helpful in moving people to make healthier decisions and overcoming barriers, whether it is about testing, vaccines, changes to the household environment, or other concerns. These strategies can help with resistance and ambivalence that may come up as you are offering recommendations. This learning collaborative will introduce you to some tools and techniques from Motivational Interviewing that can be applied to your work.
