About us

What is NNDITC, and what do you do?

We are the National Network of Disease Intervention Training Centers (NNDITC), composed of four regional centers. We provide skills-based courses and learning collaboratives for Case Investigators and Contact Tracers to address the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why do you offer a training program?

The goal of our National COVID-19 Virtual Skills-Based Training Program is to rapidly and effectively train staff to support public health systems throughout the United States as they mobilize to address COVID-19. This program capitalizes on the experience of the NNDITC member regional training centers in rapidly mobilizing resources to develop a robust outbreak response effort.

We have created this training program to:

  • Introduce learners to the basic principles of public health and epidemiology as they relate to COVID-19

  • Conduct case investigation and contact tracing activities in their jurisdictions

  • Understand the essential components of isolation and quarantine

  • Conduct all activities in alignment with the principles of good public health practice, which include respect for persons, cultural sensitivity, autonomy, and confidentiality.

Course information

Are there any requirements or pre-requisites to sign up?

Our courses are open to everyone, and there are no pre-requisite requirements! They are offered by demand, so we kindly ask that you register only if you will attend.

Do I need to register for a training in my region or time zone?

We removed region restrictions, so you can sign up for any course. Be mindful of the time zones listed--it may be a different time zone than yours.

Are your courses self-paced, so I can take them anytime?

No, our courses are live, instructor-led trainings. We kindly ask that you register only if you will attend.

Do I need to attend the entire training?

We offer highly interactive, skills-based courses. To complete training, not only do you need to attend the whole training, but also you need to actively participate.

If you log into training late or miss part of it, we may ask you to re-schedule.

Can I get a recording for the course?

Our courses are not recorded. They are live, instructor-led trainings. Our courses are offered by demand, so we kindly ask that you register only if you will attend.

How do I cancel my training?

If you cannot attend your training, we kindly ask that you cancel your registration so we can provide a waitlisted registrant a seat.

You may cancel your registration online. To do so:

1. Log into your account

2. Select "Personal" from the left menu

3. Select "My Training" from the left menu

4. Find the training in your course list

5. Select "Cancel"

Or, you may email [email protected].

What happens if I'm waitlisted for a course?

If a seat opens, we will notify you via email and/or send you the Zoom link a few days before the course.

If a seat does not open, we will notify you via email and encourage you to sign up for another training.

Will you offer more courses?

Yes! We release new Case Investigation and Contact Tracing times weekly. Additionally, we release new Learning Collaboratives monthly.

Where can I go for more resources?

Visit NNDITC-COVID19.org, which is a one-stop-shop for resources to support the critical work you and your organization are doing to assist COVID-19 case investigation and contact tracing efforts. Resources include COVID-19 guidelines, job aids, scripts, and communication tools.

Zoom information

Where is the training conducted?

Our live, instructor-led courses are conducted virtually on the Zoom platform.

How do I use Zoom?

Zoom test: https://zoom.us/test

Zoom help: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/206618765-Zoom-video-tutorials

Am I required to use audio and video on Zoom?

Audio is required, and video is highly, highly recommended. We believe that turning your video on will enhance your training and help connect you with your learning cohort.

When will I get the Zoom link?

We will send the Zoom link and class resources the Friday before training for our Case Investigation and Contact Tracing courses.

We will send the Zoom link and class resources for our Learning Collaboratives, if any, the Wednesday before training.
